Imbalance between the cellular proliferation and death in harderian gland of female mice with hyperprolactinemia

SUMMARY OBJECTIVE: To assess the impact of metoclopramide-induced hyperprolactinemia in cellular death and proliferation harderian gland female mice. METHODS: Twenty mice were divided into two groups 10 animals each treated: 0.2 mL saline solution (controls, Ctr) 200 µg metoclopramide (experimental, hyperprolactinemia), both for 50 consecutive days at 12:00 a.m. On 50th day, euthanized, glands removed processed immunohistochemistry detected ki67 TUNEL method. Data statistically analyzed by unpaired Student’s t test (p<0.05). RESULTS: The group showed increase immunoexpression Ki67 compared to Ctr (p<0.05), there was no significant difference amount porphyrin HPrl group. CONCLUSION: led increased cell acini stroma glandular, fact that suggesting a reduction process activity fibrosis, which suggests impairment functioning lacrimal harderian.
